This last Saturday Yahaira, little Daniel and I went camping with Yahaira's friend and her mommy. We went up to Cheaha State Park and had a fun time (though it was a long drive and a short stay). We hiked to High Falls in the Talladega National Forest. There was a neat little swimming hole up there, which Yahaira went into, not so much me or the little boy since it was cooler out and nearing dusk. In the morning we hiked 1 mile up (2 miles round trip) to the highest peak in AL. It was a steep climb at times, but the kids were troopers. Rachel ended up messing up her knee on the way down (should have taken that offer of me getting my car and picking you all up at the top...) but not to the point of immovable,
thank You Jesus!
Note to self: do not wait until the last flicker of sunlight to try and start a camp fire. And make sure you have either plenty of kindling
and/or a bottle of lighter fluid.
Oh and another note to self: You're nearing 30....that means you can
no longer just sleep on the ground (without a mat) like you used to as a kid, you understand?!
Where's Israella?
ReplyDeleteShe was home with Daddy, the only reason little Daniel came along was because he's still nursing all the time.
