Mission accomplished!

These past few days have been very productive, but let me first start off by posting some cute pictures of the family.
Israella being Daddy's little helper.
The girls enjoying their popsicles.
Z and her popsicle. Yahaira and her popsicle.
Israella even enjoyed some popsicle too.

Now a little bit about the popsicles. They were homemade, and the girls LOVED them. I'm not sure if they loved the flavor or just the fact that they had popsicles (which equate to special treats). See, I didn't make the popsicle with taste in mind. I just blended frozen blueberries and water, then froze them for a day. There was absolutely NO sugar or honey or other sweeteners (just whatever sugar the blueberries naturally contain). I tried some of Yahaira's while she was eating it and it seriously tasted like water with a hint of blueberry. I'm not complaining one bit. If the girls don't know the difference I won't tell them!
The previous 2 pictures were compliments of Yahaira. She's impressive sometimes:)

Now on to the productive part. Yesterday I had some energy. So....
I got up at 5:30am when Daniel got up for work. I made him breakfast and a lunch to take to work. After he left for work, I decided to rip-down the ceiling in his office. I didn't do this entirely on a whim; no, not this time (unlike the many other projects I have begun pertaining to the house). See we actually are paying someone to put up new ceilings in the office and kitchen/playroom. The guy said he could do it in 2 weeks or so (he actually called this afternoon and said that he could start next Tuesday or Wednesday, what blessing from God! So it's a good thing I ripped out the ceilings yesterday). Where was I? Oh yeah, I ripped out the ceiling, which was some kind of cardboard composite cheap thing that looked like a floor (yes, on the ceiling). I got it all out, the office picked up, swept and floor washed all before the girls got up in the morning! Praise Jesus! I then put it all in the car and when the girls were awake we drove over to our friends' house (they have a huge dumpster there until Thursday) and got to put it all in for free. What another BLESSING! When we got home, the girls played a bit, ate lunch and then Z and Israella were fussy, so off to nap they went. Yahaira was being good, so she got to stay up. Then I had some more energy and decided to rip out the playroom/kitchen ceilings. This was a little more difficult because it was drywall not flimsy cardboard stuff. Drywall can be pretty heavy, especially when it is being taken down from the ceiling. I managed to only get one big bruise, but it was well worth it I think. I got all the stuff ripped out, put in the car and everything pretty much cleaned up before my friends showed up to haul it to their dumpster (since the kids were sleeping). All that''s left to do is take the screws out and clean the cobwebs. (Oh AND I got 4 loads of laundry done!) What a VERY productive day! Enjoy the pics.

All nice and clean

Kitchen ceiling...and the glorious light because I actually washed the window for the first time since we bought the house (I took down the window thing too...it looked like a bunch of Xs...not sure what it's called).

  1. Wow Amanda! I'm impressed! Does re-doing your house bring back memories of the Iglehart house?

The X thingies on windows are typically called lattice work. That word applies to alot of different things, but it mostly applies to that particular design.
