Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

Colossians 1:10

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10

Wait, you're what?

We're in the business of raising autonomous adults NOT children here!

What if...?

So I have been struggling with some Spiritual stuff lately. Well, it's not really "new", but the Holy Spirit has really been tugging at my heart much more lately.

I say that I trust God.
I say that I trust Him with everything.
I say that I believe that He is in control.
I say that I believe that He is in control of everything.
I say that I believe that all He does is good.

I say these things, but then I fear that I would be found a hypocrite if something happened...

if something happened that I fear the most...

if something happened to one of my children.

Now I know that they are not truly mine.
That they are a gift from God.
That He really owns everything.
That they are on loan to me from the Creator.
I know this, but I still find myself selfishly hoarding them as if they were mine.

I fear that I don't have the kind of faith that I know I am suppose to have.
The faith that if God was to take any, or all, of my children from me when they are still in my care that I would still cling to Him.

That I would still:
love Him
trust Him
follow Him
obey Him
worship Him
call Him good

So when this fear starts to yell out at me I have to take God at His Word and believe what He said instead of what lies are being whispered in my ear:

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Psalm 145:3 Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.

Psalm 96:4-8  For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; Bring an offering and come into His courts.

Luke 12:4-7 I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Psalm 42:9-11 I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

Psalm 57:7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!

  1. This isn't EXACTLY the same but still touched my heart:

I think you'll enjoy it, mi amiga. I loved our talk today :-)

  2. I always love keeping a check on your blog but love it more when it's things like this! And your last statement is exactly what all Christians need to do! We need to recognize its satan and God who brings that fear & we should run to God to His word and He will calm our fears. No it will not always be easy, but He will be with us!
Thanks for sharing this with us.

I like to hear from you all, so leave me a message!
