After piano lessons yesterday we drove to the only organic farm in the area and bought some milk and heavy cream. Once home we set out to make some homemade dairy products.
Setting out to attempt to make yogurt
We also took the heavy cream and made some butter,
Shake, shake, shake
After shaking for awhile we ended up with butter and butter milk:)
After letting the yogurt ripen over night we got a quart of yogurt (that was too runny since I didn't add pectin...since we didn't have any at home). We did buy some pectin today at the store, so we'll attempt this yogurt making again tomorrow.
So....
we decided to make watermelon frozen yogurt:
Take some seeded watermelon:
Mash it up:
Measure out some sugar:
Add the sugar to the watermelon:
Stir it up:
Put it in the ice cream maker, then add the chilled yogurt:
Turn it on and let it mix for half an hour:
Voila, watermelon frozen yogurt:
