Growing up

Yesterday we went to the park to go on a "hike." Yahaira and Daddy went on a hike earlier that morning, and Israella I guess was feeling a little left out because she asked to go hiking too.

So...

...we all went to the park with the intention of Daniel running 2 laps and the kids and I walking 1 lap (each lap is 3.3 miles). Well Daniel set off on his run and the kids and I on our walk. The kids and I made it about a quarter of a mile and then were side tracked to drawing pictures in the sand on the trail. After 20 minutes had elapsed I suggested that we turn around and head back to play at the playground; otherwise it would take us way too long to walk the whole thing.

The kids got to play on the playground and then go out for a smoothie (since we had a free coupon).

While at the playground we notice how rapidly Yahaira is growing up. She was whipping across the monkey bars lickety-split, when just last week she would whine and demand I stand by her. She can ride her bike fast (and steadier by the day). She even goes hand free for a second, and she'll even lift a foot off the pedal and coast along.

It just goes to show that when kids are ready they will take off and soar!
