Since Daniel lost a lot of weight he has become skinny. He went from an XL to a Small. He still buys mediums, but I think I've begun to convince him that he really is a size small shirt (for most brands).
Well, I took an old shirt of his that he was drowning in and made it into a dress for Yahaira this morning. It's so nice to have a space dedicated for sewing (so I can leave the mess and not get annoyed that it's all over the kitchen table) and to have 2 little girls who are still sleeping (so they aren't in their bugging me while I try to figure out how to put this together as I go).
I just took Daniel's shirt, laid it flat on the table. Then I took one of Yahaira's dresses and traced around it on Daniel's shirt for a template. I cut it out, sewed right sides together (but left the opening for the arm holes), and then I cut off the already hemmed part of the sleeves to make little shoulder ruffles. I sewed them on and then it was complete.
