Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10

Wait, you're what?

The calm after the storm

So today was a rather unproductive day...ok, I got some very important things accomplished, but I did not do the majority of things I had planned for today. Our taxes are filed (the very important task) and the play room is tidy (not clean though). We did not mail the bills, get Daniel's stuff, nor package it, nor mail it.
We did gain two more kids for the night though. The title of the post is telling about what we just experienced recently. 3 out of the 4 kids wanted to through a screaming fit all at the same time. At least Yahaira was kind enough to try and help me console the baby. The baby liked the entertainment off and on. I don't know if I can handle a screaming baby any more...I can handle a screaming toddler, as well as a screaming little kid, but the baby's screams were just frustrating me. She was so happy all afternoon, but then at 7:30pm she just wanted to wake up and scream, and scream, and scream:( I think she had gas, because I changed her, tried to feed her and tried to console her, all to no avail. That's when I had to finally just put her in her car seat in the bathroom with the fan on and move on to consoling Israella. At least the little boy fell asleep on his own, after throwing a fit too (no cake unless you eat dinner). So now all the kids are asleep, minus Israella...she's quietly exploring the hidden treasures of Yahaira's backpack.
Oh the adventures of parenting.
Praise God though, I am learning when I need to just give myself a time out and tune things out. I remember when Yahaira was a baby, I couldn't stand to hear her scream. If she was screaming for no apparent reason I would get so angry. People would say to just put her in her crib and close the door. Yeah, that was easier said than done. I could still hear her scream and it would get me so mad because I couldn't get her to stop. Praise God for His transforming power! Now I am nowhere near perfect, nor even where I want to be (how to have the joy of the Lord like Shelley), but I am being moulded into Christ's image more and more.
