Snow, cold and booties

Sorry that I haven't posted anything in over a week. Here are some pictures of Yahaira helping Daniel shovel the snow. We got home from California and had a lot of shoveling to catch up on. Yahaira doesn't seem to mind the cold or snow at all. We even played outside for an hour, building Frosty the snowman and his wife Crystal. We also built a house for them. Sorry that I didn't take any pictures of that. After an hour she got cold and wanted to go inside. What a trooper!
Here are pictures of the booties I made on Friday. I followed the pattern to the T, yet they seemed a little big when I finished. I measured them and they are the size of the 9-12 month booties, not the 1-3 month pattern I had followed. I think they are big because it said to use 2 strings of yarn together...to make them thicker...but it made them bigger too. I'm making a pair of stockings, basically the same pattern except the stockings have ribbing at the top like real socks. The one stocking that I finished is much smaller than the booties, yet the stitch count and pattern are identical (minus the extra piece of string that is used for the booties). Oh well, the booties are still real cute.
